John Bongers

Bongers , John Wayne 6/27/1944 - 5/1/2021 Kalamazoo. MI John and his twin James Allen were born to John and Genevieve (Bell) Bongers on June 27,1944. John was a union construction foreman and retired from Maxwell Construction. In his retirement he enjoyed helping his sons David, Michael, Steven, step son Scott, and step granddaughter Katie with projects around their homes. He looked forward to going out to breakfast weekly at Bowen's Family Restaurant and found a new hobby in putting together puzzles with his wife Peggy during the COVID shutdown. He was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was very devoted to helping his fellow brothers maintain area Kingdom Halls. He was always willing to share his carpentry talents and mechanical skills with whomever was in need. John is survived by his wife Peggy Fisher, sons David(Tiffany), Michael(Lisa), Steven, step son Scott(Jen), grandson Jonathan, step grandchildren Katie(Thomas),Maddie,Max. Siblings Frank Bongers, Vicky(William) Kennedy. He was proceeded in death by brother James, sister Joan (Boughton McClish), and parents John and Genevieve Contributions in John's memory can be made to The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of New York 900 Red Mills Rd.
