Passed away on November 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Joanne was born on August 18, 1930 in Grand Rapids. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nellie (Greep) VanderWerf and her brother, Richard VanderWerf. On January 26, 1951 Joanne married the love of her life and best friend, Roger Zeeff. Together they lived life to the fullest, traveled to 46 countries and raised a loving family. Joanne's pride and joy was her family. Joanne was also a “mother” and “grandmother” to many. She is survived by her husband of 65 years; her children, Mike (Carol) Zeeff of Grand Rapids, and Michele “Shelley” Payton of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Brittany (Doug) Kruse of Grand Rapids, Brian Zeeff of McKinney, TX, and Kevin Zeeff of Los Angelos, CA; and great-granddaughter, Alexandria Michele Kruse, Also surviving is her sister, Connie (Harry) Van Single; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10 AM. Private interment will be in Washington Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Organization for Understanding Congenital Hearts T.O.U.C.H. or Spectrum Health Foundation.
