Joan Horger

JOAN `JOANIE' MARIE HORGER, 63, of Traverse City, passed away April 23, 2018.

Joanie was a hair stylist who took great pride in her work and loved her clients like family. Joanie was a black belt karate instructor who fused form and beauty with strength and power. Brighter than she ever thought she was, Joanie was able to find clever and creative solutions to every problem. Caring and kind, Joanie made friends everywhere she went. She faced adversities that nobody else could imagine, and she conquered them like nobody else could. She had a mountain to climb, a thousand times a day, but she did it with joyful determination.

Joanie is survived by her husband, Steven; two children, Ethan and Sarah; a sister; three grandchildren and many sister and brother in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

An informal gathering will take place from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Life Story Funeral Home, 752 Munson Ave., Traverse City.
