Jesse Miller

Jesse Robert Miller age 49, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Weidman, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017. Jesse enjoyed the outdoors- fishing, hunting, and searching for the elusive morel mushrooms. His daughter Savannah was the joy of his life. He will be remembered by his family, friends and co-workers as a great guy who was always willing to lend a hand. A Celebration of Jesse's life will be held at the Sherman Twp. Hall, 3550 N. Rolland Road, Weidman, on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jesse's daughter, or a charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and the Weidman Community Building. Jesse was born on July 18, 1967, in West Branch, the son of Vernon and Carol (Nurss) Miller. Jesse graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in the class of 1987, where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team. He worked for the State of Michigan as a resident care aide at the Mt. Pleasant Center transferring to the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital when the Mt Pleasant Center closed. Jesse had also worked at Delfield, Randell and Liberty Dairy. Jesse is survived by his daughter, Savannah Rose and her mother, Lisa Strong; father, Vernon Miller of Weidman; sister, Julie (James) Wernette of Weidman; niece and nephew, Madeline and Samuel Wernette; and Savannah's siblings, Nathaniel (Wendy) Strong, Morgan Koziarz, and Derek Strobel. Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ann "Cookie" Nurss-Miller; grandparents, Clayton and Orphabelle (Roberts) Miller and George and Guyda (Mott) Nurss and paternal aunts, Marcia Miller and Carol Bleise.
