Jerry Lee Mauchmar Sr., age 69, of Shelbyville, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 11, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Virginia Mauchmar; his children Kim (Scott) Paff, Karmin (Wayne) Bourdo, Jerry (Traci) Mauchmar Jr., and Jennifer (RJ) Foster; grandchildren Ryan Paff, Kayla Paff, Josh Paff, Nicole (Pat) Milanowski, Jordan (Shalyn Phillips) Bourdo, Tyler (Matraca Tolan) Bourdo, Zachary Woodman, Dalton Mauchmar, Elizabeth Woodman, Ivy Mauchmar, Jasmine Foster, Nate Foster, and Lilly Foster; great-grandchildren Olivia, Elliot, Masson, Julianah, Carson, Mike, Riley, and Brayden; brother-in-law, Ron Predum, and sister-in-law, Esther Mauchmar; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Pauline Mauchmar; siblings Haldon Mauchmar, Carole Kent, Marilyn Predum, and Carl Mauchmar. Jerry had a green thumb and was an avid gardener of fruits and vegetables with his wife, Virginia. They canned those fruits and vegetables and, through that process, built an everlasting connection. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Jerry was also a talented woodworker and much of his craftmanship is reflected in his home. Jerry also restored his '63 Plymouth Sport Fury, which took many years. He paid close attention to its detail, searching for each nut and bolt, to make sure it was true to its original make and model year. Once the restoration was complete, together he and Virginia shared his automotive handy-work at many car shows. As a historian, one of his favorite trips was traveling to Washington D.C. with his daughter and grandsons where he was able to recognize and celebrate the many memorials and monuments of our country. He also went on many fishing trips to Canada with his brother, Haldon, as well as enjoying many trips to Wilderness State Park with his family. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Martin United Methodist Church 969 E Allegan St., Martin, MI 49070 with visitation starting at 10:30 am prior to the service. In honor of Jerry and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Shelbyville United Methodist Church. Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services.
