Jerry Iversen

Mr. Jerry L. Iversen, age 79, of Portage, MI died Friday morning August 25, 2017 at his residence. Jerry was born July 31, 1938 in Greenville, Michigan a son of John and Gladys (Jennings) Iversen. Years ago, he served Honorably with the U.S. National Guard. Jerry had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo County Road Commission for 30 years, before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sandra Dekker. On August 16, 1996, he was united in marriage to Gloria A. (Brown) Iversen who survives. Also surviving, a son, Tim Vargo of Plainwell; 2 step sons, Larry (Cindy) Brownell II and Todd (Diana) Brownell all of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren, Larry, Rachael, Julie, Michael, Melissa, Shanee, Jennifer, Kimberly, Tiffany, and Travis; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the S.P.C.A.
