Jenny Spencer, age 91, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at Dolphin House in Burlington. She was born in Raymond, WI, August 26, 1926, the fourth of five children of the late Alex and Mary (Nee: Shostek) Syty. She grew up on the family farm and one of her favorite memories was that of having a pet pig.

Jenny graduated from the School of Agriculture in Rochester “Class of 1943.” On April 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lee R. Spencer and together they raised 8 children. Lee passed away November 29, 2003. Jenny treasured time spent with her family especially playing baseball and basketball. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her 8 children, Lee (Lin) Spencer of Atlanta, GA, Mary (the late Gene) Tallent of Denver, NC, Jack (Jane) Spencer of Kenosha, Susan (the late Steve) Schoening of Green Bay, WI, Nancy (Michael) Cadman of Union Grove, Betty Neely of New Caney, TX, Joseph (Ramona) Spencer of New Caney, TX, James (Sindy) Spencer of Wisconsin Dells; 36 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kathy Syty of Franksville, Donna Sity of Sun Prairie, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by stepchildren, Richard Brehm, Barbara (Richard) Nagy; grandsons, Andrew and Peter Spencer; and siblings, Alex (Evelyn) Sity, Wallace Syty, Sophia (Dean) Topinka, and Joseph Sity.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017, 4:00 P.M. at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St, with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Saturday 3:00 P.M. until time of service. Private interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, it was Jenny’s wish that memorials be made to the family to be used for the care of her autistic grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Dolphin House for their loving and compassionate care.
