The 1970’s were a time to remember. Disco, rock ballads, and guitar bands were among the trends in music while shows like Dallas and The Brady Bunch entertained families across America. Our space explorations continued to grow, and technology was changing the way we did nearly everything in our lives. Amidst this exciting time was the year 1978 when Tom and Vicki (Thiede) Horn were eagerly anticipating the birth of their new baby as the beauty of spring began to unfold in Vicksburg, Michigan. The big day finally arrived on April 11th when the baby girl they named Jennifer A. drew her first breath. She was the older of two girls in her family as she was raised alongside her sister, Jackie. She graduated from Vicksburg High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was awarded ten varsity letters and excelled in tennis and volleyball. She went on to play Division I volleyball and Connecticut State University. She received a BA Degree from Western Michigan University and a Law Degree from Notre Dame. Jennifer practiced law in several states and at the time of her passing she was a Corporate Lawyer in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Life was forever changed for Jennifer when she met Anthony(Tony) Maher in East Lansing while working for a local law firm. They were drawn together by many common interests. After several years of sharing their lives they were married in 2014.

She was an avid sports fan when it came to college football, college basketball, and tennis. Aside from being home with her husband and her two cats that they adored, Jennifer loved Buffalo Wind Wings, also known as “B-dubs.” She especially loved the wings there. At home, she was an amazing cook, and she could somehow perfect everything she made for her husband, even without tasting it herself. Jen was social, outgoing, and the life of the party who loved spending time with her friends.

All who knew Jennifer would agree she was special. She was intelligent, athletic, hardworking and determined to succeed. Truly beautiful on the inside and out, Jennifer was such a blessing in the lives of her family and friends. She was approachable and down to earth with a magnetic personality. Jen was a person who would do whatever she could for her family and friends, and her devotion to the people in her life was unmatched. Classy and fashionable with a smile that could brighten up even the darkest of days. She leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that those who knew will forever hold near to their hearts. Deeply loved, Jennifer will be forever missed.

Jennifer(Horn)Maher passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Tony Maher; parents: Tom and Vicki Horn; sister: Jackie (Jason) Josuns; in-laws Bill and Rita Maher; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends and family at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg on Monday January 23, at 9am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30, at the church. After Mass will be the burial at the Vicksburg Cemetery.

Please visit Jennifer’s webpage at www.lifestorynet.com where you can read her life story, sign her guestbook, share a photo and/or memory.

‘’ MY GIRL’’

Jennifer was full of curiosity from the beginning

Why is the sky blue?

Why does it rain?

What is a rainbow?

Why can’t I jump higher?

Why is the earth round?

Why can’t I run faster?

She expected answers!

One day she asked what was Heaven like

I replied I didn’t really know

She does!

Dad
