Jennie (Buikema) Dryfhout, 99, entered her eternal home on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016

Jennie was born in Chicago, Illinois as the 7th of 11 children to Benjamin and Mary (Dykhuis) Buikema. Jennie was proceeded in death by her husband Neil in 1986 and her parents; Neil’s parents; Henry and Henrietta (Opt’Holt) Dryfhout; all of her and Neil’s siblings and in-laws, grandsons; Jeremy Michael Dryfhout, Kyle James Dryfhout and great grandson Brandon Mark Brummel. Family remaining to carry on Jennie’s legacy are: Daughter, Carol & Marvin Venema, their six children and thirteen grandchildren. Daughter, Connie (Cornelia) and Dale DeGroot, their two children and twelve grandchildren. Son, Neil (Cornelius) and Roxie Dryfhout, their two children and six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Son, Chuck (Charles) and Maria Dryfhout, and their four children and six grandchildren. Celebration of life service for Jennie will be officiated by Rev. Derek Noorman at East Martin Christian Reformed Church, 510 118th Avenue, Martin, Michigan at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 28th, 2016. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 on the same day. Interment will be at East Martin Cemetery in Martin, Michigan. The family would like to express their gratitude to Jennie’s caregiver Angela Roe, and to the staff of Borgess Hospital for their diligence and compassionate care of Jennie in her final days. Memorial donations can be made to East Martin Christian Reformed Church or East Martin Christian Schools.
