Jeanette E. Nelson

Jeanette E. Nelson, age 104, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Racine, November 11, 1912, daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Nee: Pfieffer) Hegeman.

On September 5, 1942 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Richard H. Nelson who preceded her in death October 3, 1975. Jeanette was a member of the Lakeview Senior Citizens, Caesar Chavez Center Seniors, Morning Glory Bowling League, and Tucker School Homemakers. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, tatting, embroidery, and playing cards especially Schafskopf. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, JoAnn Amerson, Mary (Ronald) Guarscio, Sue Simmon, Richard (Joyce) Nelson Jr, Elaine Waydick; 3 grandchildren, Mark Amerson, Michelle Santos, and Matthew Amerson; 3 great grandchildren, Gabriel and Isabella Santos, and Liliana Amerson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Eugene Nelson; sons-in-law, William Amerson, Ronald Waydick; siblings, Cecelia (Frank) Zenner, Alma (Lloyd) Hess, Henry (LaVerne) Hegeman, Adelaide (Muilbert) Feest, Romayne (Steve) Szuahai, Joseph (Mary) Hegeman, Edwina (John) Rybarick.

Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio St, on Monday, February 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Janice Navarro officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
