Jean Robinson

Passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the age of 81. Jean was born in Kalamazoo on June 16, 1936, the daughter of the late William L. Nufer and Lucille Whitaker Nufer. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who worked from the home most of her life raising her family. She also worked for the United States Postal Service from 1961-1965 and for Bowers Manufacturing from 1977-1993. She had great artistic ability and enjoyed charcoal sketching. She made a sketch of Abe Lincoln that was placed in the Western Michigan University Art School. She enjoyed doing jigsaw and word puzzles, crocheting and sewing. Jean is survived by eight children, Carol (Bruce) Snyder, Debbie (Tom) McKenna, Vickey Fales, Lori Brinkert, Randy (Elaine) Brinkert, Kathy (Gary) Capp, Stephanie Kewley, and Susan Robinson; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Linda) Nufer and one sister, Mary Dykstra. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Robert Nufer, Ed Nufer, Ruth Anderson and Joyce Nufer. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the Langeland Reception Center. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
