Mr. James Koppenol, aged 92 of Walker, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, November 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Grace Koppenol and his siblings, Dan (Irene) Koppenol, Orie (Genevieve) Koppenol, Martin (Ada) Koppenol, and Agnes (Otto) Bajema. He is survived by his children, James “Jim” Daniel Koppenol and Mary (Jack “J.C.”) Wielhouwer; grandchildren, Jacob (Tory) Wielhouwer, Jessica (Ben) Van Drunen, and Melissa Wielhouwer; and great-grandchildren, Tessa, Heidi, Jack, Jaymin and Molly Grace; many nieces and nephews of the greater Neymeiyer Koppenol and Wielhouwer families, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends. James honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II. He also served with Gideon’s International for over 50 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Walker United Reformed Church, 1941 Randall N.W. Friends are invited to visit with his family from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the service begins.
