James Endres

James passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his home in Kalamazoo. He was born January 17, 1930 in Covington, KY, the son of William and Hennrietta (Foremeyer) Endres and grew up on the family farm in Independence, KY. Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. For 34 years he had worked at General Motors until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed working on the farm, hunting, fishing and traveling the country in his motorhome. Jim was an active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. On September 11, 1954 in Ludlow, KY he married Marilyn Mershon who preceded him in death in 1999. Surviving are his children, Bill (Diane) Endres of Kalamazoo, Jim (Laura) Endres of Kalamazoo, Bob (Margie) of Davisburg, Cathie (Paul) Matlock of Kalamazoo, Connie Endres of Kalamazoo and Jack (Mary Layne) Endres of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister in law, Joan Endres and his companion, Bea Gauthier. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn in 1999, son, Bart Endres in 1986; brother, Delbert Endres and sister, Betty Kesler. Friends may visit with Jim's family from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego with a rosary service at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego with Rev Fr Simon Manjooran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to St. Margaret Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
