Went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday evening, November 21, 2018. Jim was born November 12, 1939 the son of Vernon and Ann (Knoll) Bero and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Prior to his retirement in 2003 he was employed for 35 years with Western Michigan University as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church. Jim enjoyed sports, especially the University of Michigan. He also enjoyed electronics and driving his red Corvette. On February 28, 1975 Jim was united in marriage to his loving wife, Joan (Bosma) who survives. Also surviving are his brothers, Tim Bero, Bruce (Candace) Bero; nieces, Kimberly, Terri, and Marty; and several cousins. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, November 27 at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am Tuesday, November 27 at Grace Christian Reformed Church 1724 Whites Rd with Pastor Greg Timmer officiating. Friends may meet the family from 5-8pm Monday, November 26 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street.
