ABRAHAM - James Abraham, born July 4, 1921, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Georgette H. Abraham and brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas Bander. He is survived by his brothers, Abe (Adele) Abraham and Wade (Margaret) Abraham; sister, Delores Bander; children, Ron, Jerry (Julie), Mary (Nicholas) Kaleel, Joyce (Hai-l) Wong; grandchildren, Stephen (Shay), Jamie (David) Deratany, Kathryn Kaleel, Kristina Kaleel, Jack Wong, Tia Wong, Michael, Anthony (Sarah), Matthew (Michelle), Nicholas, and John; as well many nieces and nephews. He was a co-owner of S. Abraham & Sons, Inc. Wholesale Distributors of Grand Rapids, lifelong member of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, and member of the Grand Rapids Lions Club. The family will be receiving visitors at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home Friday 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., the Trisagion Friday at 6 p.m., with final visitation on Saturday at St. Nicholas Church, 2250 East Paris SE, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church.
