Irma Bedford

Irma Jean Manning Bedford, 88, of Alpena, died Saturday February 18, 2012 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.

Irma was born May 25, 1923 in Wilson Township to Wesley and Mildred (McKay) Udell and had been a life-long resident of the area. She married Frederick “Jim” Manning June 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1968. She later married Wesley Bedford and he preceded her in death just five months after their marriage. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and really loved the time she could spend out doors and with her great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters; Iramgene (Robert) Schultz of Cheboygan, MI, Donna (Bill) Pardieke of Alpena, Janet (John) Grochowski of Alpena, seven grandchildren; LeeAnne Kelbel, Todd Schultz, Allison Callan, Nichole Pardieke Pauly, Jason Pardieke, Stephanie Couture, Eric Grochowski, 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, John Udell of Alpena. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Louella Cramer, Esther Bedford, and three brothers; Bill, Ray, and Albert Udell.

Irma is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Sunday February 19, 2012 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm with Rev. John Manning officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore, the Gideon’s, or Word of Life Baptist Church.
