Ida Snyder

Ida Ellen Snyder, aged 85, of Kentwood, passed away at Oak Crest Manor on Monday, July 30, 2007. She was born and raised in Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School. Ida worked at Pet Milk, then a paper mill in Kalamazoo before marrying in 1945. She worked at GM in Grand Rapids, was a cashier at Plummer's Supermarket, a cook at the Grand Villa, hostess and bookkeeper at Holly's at the Inn, then became a beautician and owned her own shop called Glamour Girl on Burton Ave. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Snyder; parents, Carroll and Jessie McBride; sisters, Avis (Everett) Crumback, Gertrude (Lyle) Jenison, Cecil (John) Syers; brothers, Keith (Beverly) McBride, and Bernard McBride. Surviving are her daughter, Sue Ellen and son-in-law, Royal Denning, of Kansas; sister-in-law, Betty McBride; cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor for their years of loving and dedicated care of Mom. The Funeral and Committal Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Stroo Funeral Home, with Rev. David McBride officiating. Entombment in Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum.
