Honor Marie Steinmetz 78, a lifelong resident of Racine, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2017. She was born on September 4, 1939 to Alma (Nee: Schemmel) and Warren Studey.

She attended Lutheran High School and had a lengthy career at Case IH from which she retired. Honor was a champion for those less fortunate – humans and dogs alike. She spent her post retirement years sewing baby clothes and quilts for missions overseas, doll clothes for Toys for Tots, supported the homeless through donations (food, money, handmade winter hats and mittens) as well as supporting no-kill shelters through donations and volunteer work.

She is survived by four children: Eva (Jeramiah Swartout) McGee, Debra McGee, and Ty Steinmetz all of Racine and Beau (April) Steinmetz of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, Meko (Lilly) Kaprelian, Melissa Kaprelian, Niki (Jeff) Kraus, Seth Geyer and Nicole Fedele; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister Mary Jo (Don) Woodward and many other dear relatives and friends. Honor was preceded in death by her father Warren Studey and parents Clarence and Alma Cooper.

Private services were held. Memorials to a no-kill shelter have been suggested.
