Herbert Parker Heighton, 81, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away peacefully in his home on August 14, 2019. He was born on July 5, 1938, in Kalamazoo, MI, son of Earl and Beatrice (Bush) Heighton. Herb finished high school and joined the United States Air Force at 17 years old. He was very proud of his service and a true patriot. Upon his return home, Herb went to building trade school to become a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW 131. He worked for the union for many years until his retirement in 2001. He married the love of his life, Andrea Lee Truax on August 25-26, 1960. Herb was very active in little league, 4-H, boy scouts, and rocket football. Herb had a passion for life; He enjoyed family activities, hunting, car shows, restoring old cars, going to auctions, and doing yard work just to name a few. He knew how to take in the little moments and enjoy the small things that really make life worth it all. Surviving are his Wife of 59 years, Andrea Heighton, Sons, H. Lee (Angie) Heighton and Scott (Debbie) Heighton, Daughters, Lorinda (Frank) McKnight and Melissa E. Roman, 7 Grandchildren, Douglas, Greg, Hailey, Matthew, Nick, Lily, and Katie, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Zachary, Leland, Stella, his Sister, Patricia VanDyken, and a host of other loving family and friends. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, and Sisters, Donna Blevins and Louise Shears. Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Monday, August 19, 2019, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Lawrence Truax Officiating. Interment will follow in the Almena Cemetery, Paw Paw, MI.
