ACKERSON, Henrietta “Yetta”
Of Kalamazoo
Henrietta “Yetta” Ackerson, age 84, died September 10, 2008 in Kalamazoo. She was born December 25, 1923 in Muskegon Heights, the daughter of William and Hendricka (VanderKoppel) Kooiman. A celebration of life service will be held Monday 4:00 PM at the Second Reformed Church (2323 Stadium Drive) with a family hour beginning at 3:00 PM. A reception will follow at the church hall. She retired from Western Michigan University after 30 years of service as a secretary. Yetta was preceded in death by her husband, Dale and by eleven siblings. Surviving are two children: Anora Ackerson and Craig (Kelly) Ackerson all of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren: Megan (Tom) Ivester and Trevor, Justin and Autumn Ackerson; a great grandson, Brett Ivester; two siblings: Anna Dornbos and Ruth (Jack) Thompson all of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews and all her friends at Hope Woods.
