Harriet "Betty" Tidd

Tidd, Harriet "Betty" Hastings Harriet "Betty" Tidd, age 92, passed away October 2, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Battle Creek. Betty was born April 22, 1926 in Otsego; the daughter of Judson and Elizabeth M. (Allison) Pike. A 1943 graduate of Plainwell High School, Betty started working at the age of fourteen at the Plainwell Canning Factory, and continued her employment at Woolworth's and Eckrich. She also spent time as a Kelley Girl and she sold Stanley Home products. Betty was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, in Delton and she also was a member of the "Lunch Bunch". Betty enjoyed traveling, flowers, and she loved to watch the birds. On September 1, 1951 in Plainwell, Betty married the love of her life: George Tidd and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2016. Betty is survived by her children: Deborah (Brian) Lehman, Barbara Katts, and Steve (Beth) Tidd, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Velda, Frances, and Geraldine, and a grandson: Justen Tidd. Betty's family will receive friends Saturday, October 6, 2018, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, where her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Pastor Brian Bunch officiating. Private burial will take place in Brush Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Faith United Methodist Church or Audubon Society will be appreciated.
