Went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, July 15, 2023. Harold was born January 18, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Dennis and Laurine (Cooper) Langeland and was a resident of Kalamazoo since 1942. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School, attended Western Michigan University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1954 he enrolled at Wayne State University school of Mortuary Science and became a licensed funeral director, associated with Langeland Family Funeral Homes and a partner with his brother, Norman and his cousin Kenneth. He was a member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, VFW Post #6252, American Legion Post #36, Zion Lutheran Church, and most recently Hope Reformed Church of Kalamazoo.

Harold is survived by his children, Howard Langeland, RoseMary (Steven) VanderMolen, Daniel Langeland, Brenda (William) Robert; grandchildren, Jamie (Vincent) Burkhardt, Aria and Alex Robert; great-grandchildren, Rylie, Tamsyn, and Cayden.

He was married to Donna (Bennett) Langeland and enjoyed 27 years of marriage traveling by motorhome to most of the United States and cruises to Alaska, Bahamas, and Hawaii. She passed away in 1999. Harold's step-sons surviving are John Bennett, and Tom (Judy) Bennett; and several grand and great-grandchildren.

In 1993 Harold retired from Langeland Family Funeral Homes but continued as a staff member until 2004. He enjoyed drawing house plans for builders and lot owners including the Langeland Funeral Home in Portage. He enjoyed woodworking, bible study, church history, and playing the guitar.

In 2003 he married Rose Marie (Stanislav-LaFountain) who survives. Traveling was a most favorite thing throughout the United States, serving on mission trips, and being caregivers when necessary.

Also surviving is his brother, Norman (Bonnie) Langeland; several brother and sister in laws; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia (Spitters-Bonselaar); and step-son, James Bennett.

Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Thursday, July 20 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 where funeral services will follow at 11:00am. A light reception will follow the service and interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors.
