Alfred passed away on October 17, 2018 at The Gardens at Bronson Place. He was born September 20, 1932 in Kalamazoo to Alfred and Vera (Sootsman) Brinkert. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and was later united in marriage to the former Janet Joyce Moderman. Surviving are their children, son; Chris (Sue) Brinkert of Schoolcraft, son; Steven (Peggy) Brinkert of Otsego, daughter; Debbie (Allen) Sorensen of Jackson, and son; Mark (Tiffany) Brinkert of Schoolcraft. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Alfred is preceded in death by his sister Margaret Woolsy. A graveside military service is planned for Friday October 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of S.W. Michigan.
