Grace Elizabeth (LaHuis) Stenberg, aged 84, of Plainwell MI, died Friday, February 23, 2018, of natural causes at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell.
Grace was born on July 11, 1933 in Chicago, IL. She married Jack Stenberg in 1953, and they raised their family in Portage, and then Plainwell, MI. Grace enjoyed singing, especially praise and worship music, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed skiing and swimming on Pine Lake and caring for the lake home that she and Jack built together over the years.
Preceded in death by husband, Walter Jack Stenberg, on March 15, 2013, and son, David Stenberg on June 29, 2015. Survived by siblings Connie Shively, Paul (Ruth) LaHuis, Bernice (Don) Bolis, John (Pam) LaHuis; daughter Ruth (Wayne) Holden and daughter Mary (Byron) Hurd, daughter-in-law Cindy Stenberg; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Life Story, 120 South Woodhams in Plainwell on Monday, February 26 from 4-7pm.
Funeral at Life Story, in Plainwell on Tuesday, February 27 at 1:00pm.
Grace was an incredibly kind woman and a wonderful mother, who had an impact on all who met her. Those who knew her in the last five years were especially blessed by her strong faith in God and her peaceful spirit.
