Gordon J. Peterson “Gordy”, age 65, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Racine, WI, December 25, 1952 son of the late Gordon and Gloria (Nee; Smith) Peterson.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church where on October 9, 1982 he was united in marriage to Karen Mattie. Gordy was employed by SC Johnson Wax for 38 years until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing. Gordy especially cherished time with his family and granddaughters.

Surviving are his wife; Karen; daughter, Nicole (Peter) Schubilske; granddaughters’ Quinn and Peyton; sister, Genette (John) Biggs; brother, Gary Peterson; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Greg Mattie, Scott (Ginni) Mattie, Gary (Sue) Mattie, Kim (Mark) Loranger; nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.

A Celebration of Gordy’s life will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Preservation Hall, 740 Lake Avenue. There will be a private service for immediate family only at a later date. Memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, Milwaukee County Zoo (New Otter Habitat) or to Fishing Has No Boundaries were suggested by the family.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane and Dr. George Bobustuc and staffs for their loving and compassionate care.
