Gordon D. Severson, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was born in La Crosse, WI, August 18, 1936, son of the late Edwin and Alta (Nee: Gooden) Severson. In the late 50’s Gordon moved to Racine.

On January 14, 1961, he was united in marriage to Patricia J. Eitel who preceded him in death August 1, 2009. Gordon had a passion for flying. He had his pilot’s license and was a member of the EAA. Above all he treasured time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are three 3 children, Kim (Mark) Wittig, Kerri (Dan) Friedel, Mark (Jessica) Severson; granddaughters, Samantha (P.J.) Reasons, Sarah Geller (Fiancé Erik Lyngdal), Sydney Severson; 2 great grandchildren, Kenzie Rae and Cole Reasons; sister, Elsie Smikrud; in-laws, June Severson, Ron (Judy) Eitel, Mary (Tom) O’Hare; his loving partner, Cheryl Mooney; nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends, and his faithful companion, Rusty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary, his stepmother, Lillie Severson; mother and father-in-law; Marguerite and George Eitel; Aunt Delores Selmo; sister Marjorie (Everette) Berg; brother, Eugene Severson & brother-in-law, Gary Smikrud.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, January 13, 2017, 1-2 P.M. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Nephew John Berg officiating.
