Gloria Vanderberg

Age 96, passed away August 31, 2018 at Medilodge in Portage. Gloria was born January 16, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Gustav and Dollie Kullgren. April 10, 1942, she married the love of her life P.R. "Bud" Vanderberg. They spent many years growing their family in Portage and during that time were very involved with Calvary Bible Church. In 1970 they made a move that ultimately lasted 28 years in Franklin, NC. During their time there, Gloria was a volunteer for the Franklin General Hospital. Gloria is survived by her 4 children, Thomas (Linda) Vanderberg of Knoxville, TN, Marilyn (Richard) Roth of Portage, Robert (Barbara) Vanderberg of Denver, CO, and Carole (Jack) Schuring of Portage; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth Vanderberg, Amy (Gary) Rogers, Robert (Jacqueline) Roth, Steven Roth, Melanee (Paul) Bornemann, Joseph Schuring, Erin (Michael) Reynolds, and Stefany Vanderberg; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hannafin and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her beloved husband; her parents and a greatly loved grandson Kyle Schuring. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Street. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 5th from 11:30AM to 1:00PM at the Portage Chapel. A private interment will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
