Gertrude R. Heley

Gertrude R. Heley, aged 101, of Grand Rapids, passed away at Sanctuary of St. Mary on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born Aug. 9, 1915 in Richmond, VA the daughter of the late, Thomas and Rose (Avis) Rigsby. She retired from Michigan National Bank where she worked for 27 years. She lived in Grand Rapids most of her life. For the last seven years, she lived at Sanctuary of St. Mary where she received wonderful care from a loving and dedicated staff. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Heley on September 22, 1990. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and many dear friends. According to her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral service. She will be buried next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery – West Hartford, Connecticut.
