Geraldine Hoogendoorn

Passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the age of 96. Geraldine was born in Kalamazoo on July 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank Santman and Cora (DePotter) Santman. She was a devoted and lifelong member of North Park Reformed Church, where she was the choir director, pianist and organist. She was married to Robert Bohs in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Jake Hoogendoorn in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 2010. She is survived by her children, Patricia Sykes, Donald (Mary) Bohs and Janyce (Mark) Darrow; Jake's children, Jack (Jan) Hoogendoorn, Bob (Peg) Hoogendoorn and Faith (Patrick) Comerford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Pam) Santman Jr. and Robert (Judy) Santman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Buckhout. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49004, where the funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Paul Fazio will officiate the service. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. Private family interment will take place in West Cooper Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to North Park Reformed Church or Reverence Hospice.
