Gerard "Jerry" Hart (Formerly of Richland) - Jerry, age 65, died Saturday evening, May 6, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Muskegon, MI, with his loving family at his side. Jerry, the son of Jack E. and Irene R. (Danner) Bissonette, was born in Wyandotte, MI on February 6, 1952; was a 1971 graduate of Taylor (MI) High School and lived in Richland from 1991 until 2014. He served his Country honorably and nobly during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant. Jerry retired in 2012 after 38 years of faithful service for Parker Hannifan Corporation of Kalamazoo as a Machinist. He was a former member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Gull Lake and a member now of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hart, MI. Jerry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed a round of golf whenever possible. He and his wife, Dorothy would "Cruise" on his "Souped-Up" Kawasaki motorcycle, all over the State. His main joy was sailing, but his true passion in life was his family. Jerry was united in marriage to the "Love of His Life," the former Dorothy L. Davis at the Minot AFB, ND on September 1, 1973. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Suzan R. (Brad) Burd of Richland; his son, Charles E. "Chuck" Bissonette of Hart, MI; his mother, Irene Bissonette of Taylor, MI; two sisters, Janet Nowland of Canton, MI and Jackie (David) Shufeldt of West Branch, MI; two brothers, James Bissonette of Canton, MI and Jacques Bissonette of Harrison, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his dad, Jack. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI 49012, with Father John D. Fleckenstein, Celebrant and Deacon Michael A. Carl, Assisting. Military honors will be rendered by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard at the Church. Family and friends will continue Jerry's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following military honors in the Church Social Hall. Jerry's family will greet friends on Friday, May 12th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89). Final interment will be in Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's honor may be directed to the Oceana County Crystal Valley Foundation, P. O. Box 367, 242 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, MI 49455.
