Georgia was reunited with her husband and children in death on Thursday, September 12, 2019. She was born September 24, 1936 in Lawrence, Michigan, daughter of Eugene C. and Mable (Truesdell) Sousley. Georgia was a kind, loving, dedicated woman who loved the sound of happy family chaos. Everyone who knew Georgia knew she was happiest when around her family, making many memories camping, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Georgia had a passion for helping others, so no one was surprised by the many hats she wore including Girl Scout, Boy Scout and 4-H Leader, Sunday School teacher, and serving on many committees at church. Georgia always found the time to act as a loving care-giver for her family and enjoyed being "nurse" to everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, daughter Marjorie Heuser, son Bruce Heuser, sisters Gari VanGalder and Gladys Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memory siblings William Sousley, Gertrude Sousley, Gayle (James) Crandall and Christopher (Sandi) Sousley. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Marcia (Jerry) Hoke and Melanie Henderson, as well as seven grandchildren: Meghan (Sebastian) Salerno, Kristen (Jim) Wilkins, David (Amanda) Reed, Charles Henderson, Kaitlyn Henderson, Danielle (Andy) Fletcher and Lisa (Gabriel) Hodgson; sixteen great-grandchildren: Lilith, Leia & Vincenzo Salerno; Gavin, Ashlynn, Lucy & Benjamin Wilkins; Robert, Parker, Naomi, Charlie, Calista, & Georgia Reed; Isabella & Gabriella Fletcher; and Addison Hodgson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home in Kalamazoo. A funeral service for Georgia will be held on Thursday, September 19th beginning at 12 p.m. at Hartford United Methodist Church, located at 425 East Main Street in Hartford, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Stephanie Norton will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartford United Methodist Church care of the funeral home. You are encouraged to leave a condolence message.
