Went to be with his Lord Thursday, August 1, 2019 at his home. George was born July 27, 1926 in South Haven, the son of the late Orvis and Ruth Williams and had lived his entire life between the Bangor and Grand Junction areas. George enjoyed fishing and truly loved people. He was known as one of the most people orientated men around. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling. They had been to all 50 states and over 20 countries. George honorably served his country as a member of the US Navy during WWII. He served his community for many years as a City Carrier with the Post Office and also owned and operated Bangor Lanes. George was also a lifetime member of the Bangor Church of Christ. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Arlyce; a brother, Robert (Ruth Ann) Williams; a sister, Nancy Williams; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will meet friends on Monday, August 5, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, 11 AM at the Bangor Church of Christ, Pastors Jeremiah Johnson and Sam Wrisley officiating. Interment will follow in Grand Junction Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hope 2 Liberia at 1010 E. Centennial Ave, Muncie, IN 47303, Bangor Church of Christ or Caring Circle Hospice of South Haven.
