Gayanne Nelson

Gayanne J. Nelson, age 82, of West Columbia, SC formerly of Kalamazooo Gayanne passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Colonial Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center in West Columbia, SC. She was born on July 27, 1935 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorotha (Radcliff) Miller. On June 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to Edwin A. Nelson, who survives. Also surviving are their four daughters: Sharon (Dick) Moyle of Vicksburg, Cathy (Michael) McGuire of Kildeer, IL, Luanne (Steve) Curry of West Columbia, SC and Barbara (Dan) DeRosa of Fort Worth, TX; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister: Jan (Robert) Rogers of Portage; sister-in-law: Phyllis (Don) Emig of Kalamazoo and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A service to celebrate Gayanne's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Dec. 18, at the funeral Home. Pastor Timothy W. Seeber will officiate. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
