Gary Scholten

Gary Leroy Scholten, aged 61, of Newaygo, formerly of Hudsonville, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008. Gary was born on August 15, 1947 to Arend and Jennie Scholten. He graduated from Hudsonville High School and joined the Navy where he proudly served his country for four years. His passion in life was the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Jennie Scholten; his sister, Alma Oostindie; his brother, Allan and Vicki Scholten; his children, Brook and Kim Scholten, Michelle Wolf; his grandchildren, Austyn, Hanna, Shaun, Breanna Scholten, Aiden Wolf; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gary was truly loved and will be deeply and sorely missed. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Reformed Church in Hudsonville. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Scholten Memorial Fund.
