Gary Luke

Gary George "Mike" Luke, age 63, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Mike was born in Des Moines, IA on December 12, 1953, the son of George Oliver Luke and Florence Ellen (Sterk) Luke. He worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the National Rifle Association and the Alaskan Conservation Foundation. Among his hobbies, he especially enjoyed hockey, golf and football. Mike is survived by his three children, Jordan (Jessica) Luke, Carly Luke and Jessie Luke; his mother, Florence Ellen Luke; six siblings, Donald (Nancy) Luke, William Luke, Mary Kathleen (Steve Markee) Luke-Markee, Karen Elizabeth Luke, Kimberly Ann Stafford and Mark (Teresa Jo) Luke; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Oliver Luke. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 26th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 27th at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008, with Rev. Fr. Larry Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Monica Catholic Church.
