Frank Ufkes

Frank Ufkes Sr, age 71, made his way to glory on Saturday, September 28th, 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. Frank was born July 25th, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was honored for many things, including his service in Vietnam as a purple heart decorated United States Marine. Frank had a personality and a spirit unmatched. His contagious laughter and sense of humor lit up a room and his honesty was a bright light in a world of untruths. His life was one of hard work and adventure. The love he had for his children was paramount and ever-present in all he did. Frank was a charitable and kind soul and spent his lifetime doing for others. If someone needed something, he was there to make sure it was taken care of. Frank's mark on the world will never be forgotten. Frank was preceded in death by his father: Marinus Ufkes, step-father: Bruce Locker, sister: Diana Ufkes, brother-in-law: Butch Cummins. Survived by: his loving wife: Lilibeth Ufkes, mother and best friend: Betty Locker, daughter: Elizabeth Ufkes, sons: Frank Ufkes (Lee Sokolis), Brent & Angela Ufkes, sisters: Bridgett & John Kane, Catherine Cummins, grandchildren: Brandon & Stacy Davidson, Jeffrey Davidson (Sara Isiminger) & Penelope Davidson, Jacob & Anna Ufkes, Brent & Casey Ufkes, Jessica Ufkes (Logan Peele), Morgan Ufkes, nephews and nieces: Tony Harring, Eric & Yumi Kane, Emily & Mike Paige, Sarah & Kyle Chambers. Frank will be honored by family at a private graveside gathering.
