Frank J. Haefner of Monterey Center, Michigan passed away on December 28, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center surrounded by his daughters. Frank was born on March 4, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to August and Theresia Haefner. Frank was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He retired after 40 years with Rockwell International (Blood Brothers) in Allegan, Michigan. While he loved his time spent at Rockwell, his true passion was farming. Even in his final years, you could find Frank on a tractor or discussing farming with his grandkids and neighbors, the Coffees. He also enjoyed time spent watching and discussing sports with his grandkids. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he rarely missed an event that they participated in. Frank is greeted in death by his wife of 55 years, Grace (Jorgensen) Haefner; their two children Natalie Ruth and Frank Joseph Jr.; their two grandchildren, Chase and Nichole VanKlompenberg; his sister, Angela Butzin; and in-laws, Andrew Jorgensen, George Jorgensen, Julie and Jim McGlynn, and Stanley Brokus. He will be greatly missed by his four daughters, Bronwen (William) Grody, Lorie (Jerry) Williams, Annette (Tom) Stein, and Michelle (Melvin) VanKlompenberg; Fifteen grandchildren, Rebecca (Jeremy) Davis, Lisa (Michael) Langlois, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) VanKlompenberg, Luke (Kate) Williams, Tony (Audrey) Miller, Martin (Abbie) Van Klompenberg, Kirk (Anne) Williams, Monica (Martin Villarreal) VanKlompenberg, Kelsey (Josiah) Hooker, Amber VanKlompenberg, Kevin Stein, Lydia (Chase) Washburn, Ben Stein, Katie (Cody Brainard) Stein, and April VanKlompenberg; Sixteen great grandchildren; his sister, Augusta Brokus; in-laws, Tim (Arlene) Jorgensen, Elaine (Ray) Sigler, Phyllis Jorgensen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He enjoyed dinner and plays with his friend, Loretta, as well as, discussing politics and community events with his "Thursday Morning Coffee Buddies." Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, January 2, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic School (1861 136th Ave., Dorr, MI 49323).
