Floyd Stewart, age 72 of Kalamazoo, died December 28, 2018 at his lifelong family home. Floyd was born November 25, 1946, in Paw Paw, the son of Marvin F. and Esther (Weber) Stewart. He was a 1966 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. During the Vietnam War, Floyd served proudly from 1967-1968 in the U.S. Army. He retired in 2001 after many years working alongside his brother at Checker Motors. As an avid bowler, Floyd loved bowling at several alleys around the area. He enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing and took a lot of care feeding the birds throughout the year. Floyd had a generous heart, giving to many organizations. His greatest gift was caring for his mother for many years as she aged, until her death in 2013. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Marvin and Esther Stewart. His family includes his brother Marvin (Sharon) Stewart; his nephews: Jeff (Annie) Reicherts and Jason (Kelly) Reicherts; his great-nieces and nephews: Hannah, Max, Jacob, and Kerri (Chris) and their children: Lucas, Lilly, Logan, and Layla. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel, 3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo.
