Fay "Goldie" Reichenbach-Hubert, age 86, of Kalamazoo, MI went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, with family at her side. Fay was born in the British Colony of Kharagpur, India, the daughter of the late Harold and Beryl (Connell) Meade. She was given the nickname "Goldie" by her first grandson and the name stuck. She attended the Dowhill Boarding School, which was an all-female British school in the Himalayan Mountains and when she was 17 traveled with her parents to the U.S. They eventually made Kalamazoo their home and attended Parsons Business School. She was a hard worker who made a career in banking and also owned and operated Main St. Bridal Shop. Goldie also served as a "grandparent helper" for the Kalamazoo Public Schools and finally retired at the age of 80. Goldie had a larger than life personality. Above all things she loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She leaves them with many fond memories of a life well lived. On September 20, 1952, she married Robert Reichenbach, who preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by three siblings, Barbara Greenwood, Russell Meade, Daphne Schirripa. Fay is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Laure) Reichenbach and Karen (Mike) Duggan; two grandchildren, John-Michael and Shane Duggan. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park at a later date. The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff at Alamo Nursing Home for making Goldie's final days as peaceful as possible. Memorial contributions may be made to Alamo Nursing Home, c/o the funeral home. Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home
