74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo, MI. He was born in Forest City Arkansas on March 10, 1943 to Steve and Eddie Mae Yarbough. He worked at Midwest Aluminum until they closed down and then was employed at Honey Bear Canning until retirement. Roy enjoyed living life to the fullest by fishing, barbequing, and made sure his grandkids always kept him company. He loved being outdoors with his grandkids, teaching them how to rake leaves, drive the lawn mower, anything to keep them outside having fun because he knew how much they enjoyed spending time together. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Yarbough, sister Freddie Mae Yarbough, brother Arthur Yarbough, daughter Shyann Douglas, three step children Patricia White, Claude Thomas, Jr., and Robert Thomas, ten grandchildren, Kyla Thomas, Eric White Jr., LaTreece Thomas, Ethan Layman, Kobie Thomas, Camden Thomas, Mary Thomas, Mia Thomas, Robert Thomas, Jr., And Kiauna Clark, five great-grandchildren Markell Morgan, Damien White, Makih Thomas, Aiden Jackson, and Amelia McCormick. Anyone who knows Roy knows his grandchildren were his world. Roy was a very loving, compassionate, caring man who will be missed dearly until we meet again. A Celebration of Home Going will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 4, 2017 at New Life Fellowship Church of God in Christ, 1912 Birch Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the church. Burial will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Harrison Cemetery, Decatur, MI.
