Ernest Dyer

Ernest Dyer passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 in Plainwell. Ernie was born April 9, 1951 in Plainwell to Oscar and Laura (Patten) Dyer and was a lifelong resident of the area. For many years he was employed with Checker Motors. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar for his grandkids and also enjoyed hunting. On December 29, 1994 in Hastings he married Karen Currie, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Amy (Tony) Predum and Angie (Richard) Peet, both of Plainwell, Kim Currie (her fiancé, Aaron Gabala) of Delton and Laura Currie of Plainwell; six grandchildren, Trever, David, Courtney, Ethan, Jacob and Hailey; four sisters and three brothers, Tillie Guerin of Shelbyville, Mae Beasley of Plainwell, Joyce Ellison of Otsego, Deloris Meacham, Delmer Dyer, Chalmer Dyer and Palmer Dyer all of Plainwell; many nieces and nephews; and a family friend Arby Hatten. Ernie was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Elmer, Denver, Marie and Faye. Funeral services will be held at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego at 1:30 P.M. Friday, with Pastor Mary Hoots officiating. Friends may meet the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery, Orangeville.
