Passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Emmigene was born April 4, 1937 in Ida Arkansas, the daughter of the late John and Susie Winfrey and had lived in Grand Junction since 1954. She was an avid gardener, bicyclist, hiker and walker. Emmigene truly loved nature and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and the many vacation trips over the years. She also enjoyed camping, animals and her many pets. Surviving is her husband Robert whom she married in 1960; 2 daughters Kathy (Renee Couey) Haynes and Karen (Mark) Taylor; 2 grandchildren, Starr Long and Christopher Taylor; a brother Delmar (Virginia) Decker; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kenneth Long. The family will meet friends on Wednesday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com, Pastor Dan Spicer officiating. Interment will take follow in Grand Junction Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Al Van Humane Society of South Haven.
