Elizabeth Vartanian

Elizabeth Vartanian, age 92, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Ann’s rest home. Elizabeth was born in Jerusalem, December 24, 1924, daughter of the late Haroutyoun and Azniv (Nee: Keshishian) Mouradian.

In 1945 in Jerusalem she was united in marriage to Hovaness “John” Vartanian who preceded her in death in 1989. Elizabeth was employed for many years at Rainfair. Always ready and willing to help others, Elizabeth was a dedicated and longtime member of St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church and Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Armenian Red Cross. Elizabeth will be fondly remembered for her heart of gold, fabulous cooking, and excellent singing voice.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Hasmig (Douglas) Brewster, Mher (Garine) Vartanian, Ashod Vartanian, Shoghig (Tiziano) Brianza; her nine grandchildren, Yeghsa, Sose, Tamar, Eliana, Miky, Talin, Hovan, Zovig, Narine; one great-grandson, Roupen; brother, Hovaness (Shamiram) Mouradian, Michael (Ruthie) Mouradian; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, 4100 N. Newman Rd, on Saturday March 18, 2017, 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Daron Stepanian officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to the Armenian Red Cross have been suggested.
