Eleanor June Snider passed on to her heavenly home in her sleep at North Woods Village on May 5, 2022, just one month before her 99th birthday. On June 6, 1923, in Kalamazoo Werner and Jesse (Cole) Olson welcomed their daughter into the world. When Eleanor was 10 years old, her father passed away from a tragic accident and life became very hard for the family. Eleanor and her siblings developed a close unbreakable bond that has lasted throughout their adult years. They have always been there supporting each other during the good or tough times. Eleanor enjoyed shopping, watching her soap operas, keeping her home clean, and was always there for her family. Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Frances DeYoung and Rena Gates; son, Ronald Nuyen; daughter, Marilyn (Lance) Doubblestein; grandchildren, Missy Ford, Angie Cleland, Denise Jones-Nartey, Christopher Brown, Miranda Halbert, Alissa Farmer, Melissa Kelly, Becky Hansmann, and Robert Doubblestein; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hartford Snider; son, Dennis Lee Cleland; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Nuyen; brothers, Richard Olson and Charles Olson; and very special friend, Marv Anson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park South. Special thanks to the staff at North Woods Village, Centrica Care Navigators, Dr. Elami and Dr. Barton Lewis, Home Helpers, as well as caregiver and friend, Jody Crawford for Eleanor's care.
