Holbrook, Dr. Wayne Meridian, Idaho Dr. Wayne Holbrook, age 79 of Meridian, Idaho passed away on April 3, 2022 due to a long illness and complications from Parkinson's Disease. Wayne was born and raised in Galesburg, Michigan on April 24, 1942 to Wiley and Juanita (Conn) Holbrook. After his marriage to Carol McGowan on September 15, 1962, they lived in Cleveland, Indianapolis, Michigan, and Boise. Wayne was a 1960 graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School, where he was honored as class valedictorian. He went on to obtain his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Tech and his PhD from Case Western University. Wayne worked as vice president of a small electronics company for many years. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed genealogy research, photography, reading, and working with computers. Wayne and Carol spent time traveling all over the western United States and Europe. Most important to Wayne was his family whom he loved to spend time with and play games. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Holbrook of Meridian; children: Dr. Mark (Teresa) Holbrook of Boise, Dr. Lisa Holbrook of Vancouver, Washington; grandchildren: Patrick, Andrew, Zach, Addison; sisters: Cleta (Larry) Horne of Tampa, Florida, Rosemary (Gerald) Hollaway of Augusta, Michigan; sisters-in-law: Barb (Dave) Randolph of Climax, Michigan, Vicki (Greg) Hall of Austin, Texas; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother David Holbrook. Per Wayne's final wishes a private family service has been held.
