Dr. Milton H. Wells

Died Saturday evening, May 9, 2020. Dr. Milton Wells was born April 22, 1949 in Muskegon, Michigan a son of Bishop Nathaniel and Mildred (Hayward) Wells. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1998 and Pastored Open Door Ministries for 15 years. He sat on numerous boards, partnered with organizations and churches whose interest were building communities, families and schools. Dr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bishop Nathaniel Wyoming Wells, Jr.; and a sister, Joyce Jean Bell. On April 19,1980, he was united in marriage to Joyce (Jones) Wells who survives him. Also surviving are 7 children: Milton (Melinda) Wells Jr. of Kennesaw, GA, Troy Wells, Sanyqua Marshall, Joshua (Alicia) Wells, and Desmond Wells all of Lakeland, FL, Phillip (Paige) Wells of Kalamazoo, MI, and Ashley Jomil (Louis) Bell of Riverview, FL; 25 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Dr. Patricia C. Wells of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services and burial will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
