Dorothy Wood

Dorothy A. Wood, age 71, of Augusta, MI went to be with her Lord & Savior on Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born in Kalamazoo on February 23, 1946, the loving daughter of Frank L. and Dorothy S. (Watkins) Drobny Sr.. Dorothy retired from Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo after more than 30 years of faithful service. Dorothy married August V. "Auggie" Wood on August 28, 1965; he sadly preceded her in death on November 1, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Christine L. (Richard) Fee of Augusta; two grandchildren, Eric Fee, and Emily (Jerry Pierman) Fee; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Pierman and Brooklyn Pierman; a sister, Marlene "Marge" Drobny; brothers, Frank (Nancy) Drobny, Frederick (Cathy) Drobny, Louis Drobny; and several nieces & nephews. A very loving and caring Christian woman, Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Augusta Bible Baptist Church where she actively taught Vacation Bible School, Awana, Sunday School, served as Head of the Women's Missions, and enjoyed her time with the church's dominos group. She enjoyed all types of arts & crafts, crocheting, sewing and donated countless items to Operation Christmas Child and handmade outfits for newborn babies. The family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Augusta Bible Baptist Church, 412 W. Clinton Street, Augusta where funeral services to celebrate Dorothy's life will held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Ibbotson, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg.
