Dorothy Pond, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 97. Dorothy was born on June 17, 1919 in Decatur, MI. She was the daughter of Roy and Sylvia (Sunday) Myles. She made it her mission to be there for her children as a homemaker.

She will always be known as a loving and sweet person. Dorothy loved bowling and playing Skipbo with her family. She enjoyed traveling with Lloyd up north, especially Baldwin. She loved her four-legged children – both cats and a dog. Known to have a green thumb, Dorothy gardened flowers including her favorite, daisies. She was quite the collector having hundreds of salt and pepper shakers. She was also a huge Detroit Tigers fan! Never to be forgotten, Dorothy was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Sylvia Deau, Dick (Diana), and Lonny (Marlene); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Lloyd, her parents, son Jimmy, son-in-law Dale Deau, and grandsons: Mike Deau and Barry Deau.

Burial will take place at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur at a later date.
