Dorothy Phillips

Phillips, Dorothy Galesburg, Michigan Dorothy Phillips, 92 of Galesburg, passed away April 3, 2021, at Glenn Arbor Hospice in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was born on March 7, 1929, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Russel and Eva (Piper) Hopkins. Dorothy married Donald Phillips on October 17, 1956 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2017. She was a lifetime member if the VFW Auxiliary Post 7956. They are survived by their children: Doris Smith, Nancy (Fred) Nunley, Denese Gorske, Donnie (Betty) Phillips, Darryl Phillips (Jody); ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters Jeanette Allen and Martha (Gary) Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Phillips, her parents Russell and Eva Hopkins, her daughter Diana Sternaman, sons-in-law Bob Smith and Roger Gorske, her brothers Russ, Everett, Vick, Terry, George, and Gerald Hopkins and sister Donna Pierce. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hawgs for a Cause at 2668 N. 37th Street, Galesburg, MI 49053.
