Dorothy Meulendyk

Dorothy Jean Meulendyk, 98 of South Haven passed away on May 18, 2025 at Holland Hospital in Holland Michigan. Born on October 10, 1926 in Grand Rapids Michigan to John and Minnie Dekker. United in Marriage on August 21, 1947 to the late John William Meulendyk at the Broadway Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids.

Dorothy and John were long time members of Third Christian Reformed Church of Kalamazoo. These past many years Dorothy was a member of Hope Reformed Church of South Haven Michigan.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years John Meulendyk, son Craig Meulendyk, and daughter Cheri Meulendyk. Also preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne Dekker and Evelyn Baxter.

She is survived by her children; Mark (Linda) Meulendyk, Pam (Hugo) Biertuempfel, grandchildren; Elizabeth (Darren) Chapel, John Peter (Holly) Biertuempfel, Chris Biertuempfel, Brooks (Christy) Biertuempfel, Angela Raderstorf (Eric), and Chad Campbell. Great Grandchildren; Avery Chapel, Hank Biertuempfel, Sarah Biertuempfel, Anna Biertuempfel, Valerie Campbell, David Curry Jr., and Lucy Raderstorf. Also survived by her sister Faye Mellema.

A Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Reformed Church, 1365 Monroe Blvd, South Haven, Michigan 49090. Rev Curry Pikkaart will officiate. Dorothy will be laid to rest privately at McDowell Cemetery.
